For example, when Hank and Peggy are checking out Girl Scout cookies at the Mega Lo Mart, when the scouts point out that the Samoan cookies have been renamed “caramel delites” to be more respectful of the people from Samoa, Hank remarks that “that’s a good change.”

Also in “The Beer Story,” Hank admits that Bobby “knows more about certain things than I give him credit for, but I was too proud to listen.” This makes Hank such a likable, refreshing character. Hank isn’t so stubborn and in his own ways that he refuses to admit it when he’s wrong or makes mistakes in The Area. When he’s wrong, he admits it or tries to make amends. This was true in the original series, and it’s consistent in the revival. Later in “Bobby Gets Grilled,” Hank becomes inspired when he brings Bobby’s meal to his restaurant to bring a group of disparate people together in The Area. Although Hank was angry because Bobby refused to use propane for his restaurant, Hank understood how Bobby’s food created a common ground between all the people. The storylines unfold organically within the characters and are consistent with their writing in previous seasons, and it shows how the characters have naturally developed.
