Diana Vickers has called Mama Boys a “bloody nightmare” – revealing her horror to former friends who would fondle their mothers in front of her.
The X-Factor singer, 34, didn’t hold back about the “scary” power of mothers on Metro’s Just Among Us podcast.
Speaking to co-owner Alice Giddings, Vickers admitted that she had “really felt” the stifling presence of overly clingy mothers looming over her previous relationships.
Vickers and Giddings tackled an explosive topic while counseling a listener whose family had rejected their new boyfriend.
“I get really worried when someone new comes into my life, wondering if I’ll be able to handle their mother,” the singer said.

“I’ve had friends before where I’ve gone to meet their parents – maybe gone to theirs for the weekend – and they’ve sat in front of me, petting their mom.
“Sometimes I feel like saying – get up! I’m here! Stop petting your mom!”
“I like to give my mom a cuddle, but I will always go back to my partner… These boys cuddled their mom for an unpleasant time.
‘I feel like saying: you’re done now. Sit with me and put your arms around me.’
Sex journalist Giddings agreed, revealing how “boy moms” make her skin crawl.
Giddings said: “The boy’s mother is a real stereotype – and it’s a little scary. They’re a special breed.”
