Zara McDermott looked effortlessly chic as she arrived at the photocall for her new BBC documentary series Thailand: The Dark Side of Paradise.

The Strictly Come Dancing star, 28, has brought a range of thought-provoking and critically acclaimed documentaries to the BBC in recent years – and her latest will explore the pros and cons of a destination that has become a popular tourist spot for young Britons.

First reported to have moved in with her new boyfriend Louis Tomlinson, Zara attended a photocall and screening at the Charlotte Street Hotel in London ahead of the documentary’s release.

She looked stunning for the evening as she arrived wearing a black knit cardigan that featured a white lining, wrist cuffs and a peplum feature.

Zara paired the jacket with black Capri leggings and red patent strap kitten heels, along with chunky gold hoop earrings.

At the event, she posed for snaps alongside BBC Radio 1’s Natalie O’Leary, who hosted a Q&A with Zara at the screening.

It comes after Zara reportedly moved in with One Direction star Louis Tomlinson just months after going public with their romance.

The couple, who began dating in secret while developing their relationship, “kicked off their union in earnest” earlier this month when they posed together on Instagram.

The Love Island star, 28, and the singer, 33, are reportedly the “real deal” after declaring their love for each other for the world to see in a post.

Now they have taken things to their own level, with Zara moving into multi-millionaire Louis’ North London mansion, having moved back into her parents’ home after leaving the Fulham home she shared with Sam Thompson.

An insider told The Sun: “They are amazing and she spends all her time at his place, she has moved quite a bit. Zara has even started making her social media videos from there instead of her parents’ [home]In the area

“She had moved back into her family home after she split from her ex… but Louisa’s house and her parents’ house are nowhere near each other, so it made sense that she would spend more time with him.

“They are in the honeymoon phase and want to be with each other as much as possible when they are not working. Zara spent a lot of time travelling with Louis this summer and now they are back in the UK and she is using his place as a base a lot of the time.”

The Daily Mail reached out to representatives for Zara and Louis for comment at the time.

Zara had wrapped her brand new BBC documentary series earlier this year following her split from ex-boyfriend Sam Thompson.

The Made in Chelsea star, 32, and the former Love Island contestant were reported to have split in December after five years together.

Days after Zara, who has since moved in with One Direction star Louis Tomlinson, moved out of their Chelsea home, the BBC confirmed she would be heading to Thailand for an upcoming documentary series.

The new programme, produced by South Shore Productions, looks at what attracts Britons to Thailand, as well as the darker side of the country, including access to drugs and the sex work industry.

It will start in bustling Bangkok, before heading to some popular party islands, and will feature a lively cast of characters.

Zara’s main goal for the documentary is to uncover why thousands of young Britons flock to the exotic location every year.

From backpackers to those seeking long-term roots, the new documentary will reveal the secrets of the vast and diverse country.

Speaking to the BBC on Tuesday, Zara said of the time she spent talking to sex workers in Thailand: “My work in the violence against women space allowed me to have difficult and emotional conversations with sex workers.

“My goal is for these women to feel fully seen and heard because I truly believe that sharing our stories helps us empower women.

“I have enormous empathy for women who are pressured to work in such an unpredictable and sometimes unsafe industry.”

Before filming, Zara revealed that she was excited to explore a new country: “I’m excited to discover a country that so many young people like me are going to right now.

“There’s obviously a passion for nightlife, parties and stunning beaches, but it seems there are other intriguing reasons why people travel to Thailand and stay.”

Meanwhile, CEO Naomi Templeton said at the time: “We are delighted to be working with Zara.”

“She will offer a fresh perspective on the many reasons why thousands of young Britons are drawn to explore Thailand every year.”

Thailand: The Dark Side of Paradise will be available on BBC iPlayer from Monday 8 September
