Kiku Sharda, a long-time friend of Kapil Sharma, will not be shooting for the great Indian Kapil show and the reason is his professional commitment clashing with another show.

Actor Kiku Sharda is taking a break from his comedy run with India’s great The Kapil Show and is venturing into entirely new territory. The comedian has signed on for the upcoming reality series Rise & Fall, a high-stakes prison show that promises drama, strategy and plenty of fireworks.
Shooting for Rise & Fall begins this Wednesday, which means Kiku will be temporarily away from Kapil’s Netflix-backed show while he is locked in the rival camp. Interestingly, Rise & Fall streams on Amazon’s MX Player – a direct Netflix competitor – making Kiku’s switch even more telling.

Adding to the buzz is the fact that Shark Tank India star Ashneer Grover is not only the host of Rise & Fall, but also the man calling the shots behind the scenes. Sources reveal that Ashneer personally selected the final contestants, even rejecting five names from the list for being “too boring” or “not sharp enough.” Unlike typical reality shows that chase celebrity names, Ashneer has come up with edgy, strategic players who can stir things up and keep the audience hooked.
“He wasn’t here to make safe choices,” the source shared. “He wanted contestants who could think on their feet, play smart, and shake things up.” With the arrival of Kiku and Ashneer’s no-nonsense approach to casting, Rise & Fall is shaping up to be one of the most explosive reality shows to hit streaming this year. Rise & Fall will begin streaming on September 6th, starting with Prime Video.
