Kalyani Priyadarshan’s ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’ continues to make waves at the box office as fans eagerly await its digital release. Directed by Dominic Arun, the Malayalam superhero spectacle has been garnering attention since its release on August 28th and here we take a look at the film’s OTT release details.

This platform will likely stream ‘Lokah’ next month

While theatres continue to register good footfalls, the conversation has now shifted online as viewers ask: when can they watch Lokah at home? Netflix has reportedly picked up the digital rights, though there is no official confirmation from the platform or the filmmakers yet. Reports from One India suggest that the film could premiere in the last week of September, with September 26 being the most speculated date. The OTT version is expected to stream in multiple languages ​​- Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada – extending its reach far beyond Kerala.

Box office steady after strong weekend

In just six days, Lok has earned an estimated Rs 39.37 crore nett in India, according to trade reports from Sacnilk. The film opened with Rs 2.7 crore on Thursday, followed by Rs 4 crore on Friday. The collections picked up over the weekend, pulling in Rs 7.6 crore on Saturday and Rs 10.1 crore on Sunday. Notably, the film performed smoothly on Monday, adding another Rs 7.2 crore to its tally. By the sixth day, the total stood at Rs 39.37 crore, signaling a strong run that goes beyond just the opening hype.

Expanding beyond Malayalam cinema

Along with Kalyani, the film stars Naslena in the lead role with supporting performances from Sandy Master, Tovino Thomas, Sunny Wayne and Dulquer Salmaan himself. The makers of the film have also announced plans to release the Hindi version of the film theatrically, though the date remains unconfirmed. The film is expected to go on floors in the coming days.
