YouTube has announced that it is expanding its multilingual audio to millions of creators so they can take advantage of multilingual dubbing features for their videos.
With the new update, YouTube creators can add their muds in multiple languages, allowing viewers around the world to watch content in their preferred language.
YouTube reported that, on average, creators who uploaded audio tracks in multiple languages saw more than 25% of their watch time come from views of videos in a language other than their primary language.
According to the company, the multilingual audio pilot took place two years ago.
“Now, when a YouTube creator in the US releases a new video, in moments a fan in Korea, a fan in Brazil, and a fan in India can watch it in their native language,” YouTube said in a blog post.
YouTube noted that celebrity creators like chef Jamie Oliver, social media personality Mrbeast, and educator Mark Rober reached more viewers worldwide after adopting the new feature.
The implementation is expected to take place in the coming weeks.
