The sequel to the 2023 smash hit Super Mario Bros. movie is officially titled: Super Mario Galaxy the Movie .
The title reveal came as part of Friday’s Nintendo Direct, where Nintendo also revealed that the film was set on April 3, 2026.
The Super Mario Galaxy movie is named after 2007’s Super Mario Galaxy , the first Super Mario game to be released for the Wii. A critical and commercial success, the game sends Mario into space on a quest to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser. There, he encounters the powerful Rosalina and the star-like lumas she oversees. The title of the Super Mario Galaxy movie reveals that Mario’s journey to the final frontier.
