Brooklyn Beckham’s appearance at the Ryder Cup celebrity golf match on Wednesday proved to be a humiliating moment for the British star.
David and Victoria Beckham’s eldest child played for Team Europe alongside former basketball player Toni Kukoc as they competed against Eli Manning and Colin Yost of Team USA in the first round of the Celebrity Playoffs.
However, fans at the Bethpage Black Golf Course in Farmingdale, New York, witnessed the 26-year-old play a “terrible” game, during which they mocked him for his “lack of talent.”
An insider told The Daily Mail that he had terrible luck from the get-go, with the former model losing the golf ball after having to start over after his team spent more than the allowed three minutes trying to find it.
This wasn’t the only time Beckham appeared frustrated. Throughout the 11-hole game, he repeatedly hit the ball out of bounds and kept getting it stuck in bunkers.
Onlookers commented on how “terrible” he was and how he had no “talent.”

Meanwhile, another fan commented to Beckham’s teammate Kukoc as he walked past: “Doesn’t he make you look small?”
Some viewers even questioned whether he was really a “celebrity” and asked others who he was. Those who knew him described him as “David Beckham’s son.”
The biggest celebrity at Match One was former football star Eli Manning, 44.
Fans held up signs and asked Manning to sign their baseball caps or other memorabilia they had brought to the Ryder Cup. Some younger fans even brought their own soccer balls to play with him between each hole.
“Beckham wasn’t in a good mood the whole game, it seemed,” said the insider.
“He had his head down as he walked past fans who were shouting for Eli or Colin. It was obvious he had very few fans of his own.”
The insider continued: “At one point, he walked away from the crowd behind the ropes, as if he didn’t want to deal with the booing Team USA fans.
The only support he got was from his caddie, who would “nudge him to the back as if to tell him it was ok” or from another team member, who would punch him if he made a good shot.
One fan commented to Brooklyn teammate Toni Kukoc: “Does he make you look small?”

The only support Beckham received came from his caddie, who, in addition to giving him instructions during the game, “would nudge him to the back as if to tell him it was OK.”
Fans couldn’t help but notice that Beckham got the ball stuck in the bunkers.
In an exclusive interview with The Daily Mail after the game, Beckham said he knew the fans weren’t there to cheer him on.
“I guess I didn’t like them at all – but it was amazing,” he said.
“They gave me a little bit of trash, but I expected it – being in New York, going against Eli … they just laughed. But it is what it is, I had fun there. I did my best. It was honest, just really fun.”
The former photographer claimed he only had a week’s worth of golf experience.
“Honestly, it was really nerve-wracking… but it was such a cool experience – I couldn’t say no. It was amazing,” he added.
Facing negative comments about himself and his family, he went on to say, ‘There’s always going to be people saying negative things, but I have a very supportive wife. Me and her, we just do our thing, we just keep our heads down and work. And we’re happy.’

Beckham told The Daily Mail in response to reports of his family’s feud: “There’s always going to be people saying negative things, but I have a very supportive wife. Me and her, we just do our thing, we just keep our heads down and work. And we’re happy.”
His wife, Nicola Peltz, 30, stayed in Los Angeles to care for their four dogs.
She and Beckham are reportedly estranged from his parents and siblings. The couple renewed their vows in front of family members from Peltz’s side of the family over the summer.
Meanwhile, Beckham has not appeared at any of his family members’ birthday parties in recent months, including brother Romeo Beckham’s 23rd birthday party earlier this month – as confirmed by a source who spoke to the Daily Mail.
Beckham and Kukoc lost to Manning and Jost by a final score of 7.5 to 3.5. Combined with the other three celebrity matches, the European team lost to the US team by a final score of 25 to 19 points.
Other celebrities who attended the match included Michael Strahan, Miranda Lambert, Kane Brown, Bobby Flay, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Tom Felton, Pau Gasol, Noah Kahn, Oliver Phelps, John McEnroe, Teemu Selänne and chef José Andrés.
