Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani’s action spectacle “War 2” saw a modest bump on Sunday, collecting Rs 1.50 crore nett across all languages on its eighteenth day, according to early estimates by Sacnilk. The film saw a big drop in numbers as it entered its third weekend at the box office, but it seemed to pick up the pace on Sunday.

Third weekend collections

The action film earned nearly around Rs 65 lakh on its third Friday and followed it up with a collection of around Rs 1.15 crore. With Sunday collections, the film’s third weekend total reaches around Rs 3.3 crore.

All Indian Collections

After 18 days in theatres, the film’s Indian net total has reached Rs 234.31 crore with a gross of Rs 278.35 crore. The Hindi version continues to dominate, contributing around Rs 176.01 crore, while the regional dubbed versions added a combined Rs 58.30 crore. Of this total, the Telugu version brought in around Rs 56.1 crore and the Tamil version had a modest Rs 2.15 crore. On the 18th day, the film recorded a total of 19.08% Hindi occupancy, reaching 28.67% during evening shows, showing that despite the slowdown, War 2 is still making a mark in major metros.

Global performance

Globally, ‘War 2’ has grossed an estimated Rs 355.1 crore, helped by a solid haul of Rs 76.75 crore from overseas markets. However, with a reported budget of nearly Rs 400 crore, the film still has a long way to go before it is declared a clear financial success.

Hrithik Roshan’s career turning point

The film’s Hindi collections have now surpassed Hrithik’s 2014 blockbuster ‘Bang Bang!’ which earned Rs 174.5 crore, making it the fourth highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. It now trails behind ‘Fighter’ (Rs 212.79 crore), ‘Krrish 3’ (Rs 231.79 crore) and ‘War’ (Rs 303.34 crore).

The Road to the Rs 300 Crore Mark

Despite crossing major milestones, War 2 has struggled to maintain momentum after a strong opening week, facing stiff competition from new releases like Param Sundari. The film will need consistent weekday collections to inch closer to the Rs 250 crore mark in India by the third week.
