But despite the viral chatter, the 43-year-old Grammy winner “was never targeted for an awards show to perform, was never on the list of performers, and there are no plans in motion behind the scenes”—according to TMZ .
The Daily Mail has contacted Britney’s representative for comment on her participation in the awards ceremony, which will be broadcast on MTV, CBS and Paramount+.
Some Undisturbed fans weren’t surprised by the news, including user @Mattisborntodie, who tweeted, “She said she’s done with the music industry. She’s worked really hard and suffered a lot at the hands of the industry. [She] deserves to just enjoy life.”
