Charlie Kirk was best known as the late “founder of Derurd Point USA,” but he also built a media platform with a large following. Also known for his podcast, “The Charlie Kirk Show,” fans of Kirk — who was fatally shot at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025 — will carry the torch with his show. Vice President J.D. Vance , who was close friends with Kirk, will be a guest on the podcast episode.
Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old Utah resident, has been named as the prime suspect in Kirk’s murder. His father turned him in to authorities.
Several celebrities, including Donald Trump, paid tribute to Kirk in their own public statements. People from both political parties called for change and sent their thoughts and prayers to his family.
The president, via Truth Social, wrote: “The great and even legendary Charlie Kirk has passed away. No one understood or had the heart of the youth of the United States better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by all, especially me, and now he is no longer with us. Melania and my sympathies go out to his beautiful wife, Erica, and family. Charlie, we love you!”

Not necessarily, but the Vice President stepped up to honor Kirk during a guest appearance on the September 15, 2025, episode at 12:00 PM ET, Vance confirmed via X.
“Tomorrow I will have the honor of hosting ‘The Charlie Kirk Show,’” Vance tweeted. “Please join me as I pay tribute to my friend.”
What will happen to “The Charlie Kirk Show”?
At the time of publication, there has been no official word on who might host “The Charlie Kirk Show” following his death. His wife, Erica Kirk, promised to continue his legacy with a spinoff on USA, though it is unclear whether she will provide updates on the broadcast.
“To everyone listening tonight across America, the movement my husband built will not die,” she vowed after her late husband’s death. “It will not, I refuse to let it happen… we will all refuse to let it happen. No one will ever forget my husband’s name, and I will make sure of that.”

How does JD Vance know Charlie Kirk?
Vance opened up about his and Kirk’s friendship on Twitter after news of the latest shooting.
“Charlie was one of the first people I called when I was thinking about running for Senate in early 2021,” Vance tweeted. “I was interested, but skeptical that there was a way. We talked through everything from strategy to fundraising to the movement’s grassroots, which he knew so well. He introduced me to some of the people who would be running my campaign, as well as Donald Trump Jr. Like his dad, he’s misunderstood. He’s extremely smart, and very much ours.
The VP also stated, “When I became the VP candidate – something Charlie advocated for both in public and private – Charlie was there for me.”
