Coronation Street fans were quick to notice a big change as they were given their first glimpse of Debbie Webster’s new home.
Those who follow the ITV soap were recently left devastated for the much-loved character, played by actress Sue DeVaney, after she was given a life-changing health diagnosis.
Debbie originally moved to the street in 1984 as a fifteen-year-old, alongside Sue, who hails from Ashton-under-Lyne, the only actress to ever portray the character, first from 1984 to 1985, then in 2019 before returning full-time in 2020.
But those who follow the Greater Manchester institution closely will be aware that Sue would eventually leave following Debbie’s dementia diagnosis.
Viewers of the scene, which aired in April, saw Debbie overcome with concern about her memory loss and book an appointment at a private clinic, believing her symptoms could be related to menopause.
After discussing a series of recent incidents, shown as flashback scenes, including blacking out and falling, her doctor advised her that he wanted her to have further tests because he was concerned that she was showing symptoms of early vascular dementia.
Cory now shows Debbie’s life as it unfolds with the devastating diagnosis. Despite her struggles, the character is seen moving into her new home with fiancé Ronnie Bailey as they plan their wedding.

During Wednesday’s (September 24) episode of Corrie, fans got a glimpse of the couple’s new home after they moved into Carla Connor’s former flat following their bidding war for No.
Following the first glimpse of the redecorated property, which came as Debbie had a heart-to-heart with her brother Kevin after his wife Abi Webster told him they should split, @_sammymfs said: “In other news, Debbie has been busy decorating Carla’s old apartment.”
@Corrieoaks replied: “It looks so different OMG.” @annabygilova echoed: “Why does it look like a completely different apartment.” @Agf1052 added: “Aye the new apartment! Very Debbie themed #Corrie.”
