Former This Morning presenter Fern Britton is believed to have remained single since her surprise split from ITV chef Phil Vickery in 2020.
Fern Britton opened up about being a loner
Fern Britton has opened up about her single life, more than five years after splitting from chef Phil Vickery. In January 2020, the ITV This Morning star announced their split after “20 happy years” in a statement shared on social media.
“Phil and I have decided to go our separate ways. We will always share a great friendship and our beautiful children. We would appreciate it if our privacy was respected at this time. Thank you for your continued kindness and support,” she added in a statement at the time.
The former couple are parents to 23-year-old daughter Winnie, while Fern also has three older children from her first marriage to Clive Jones.
Speaking about her love life, the 68-year-old admitted that she has mixed feelings about being single.
“I’m in a good place, I feel like I’ve found the person I was meant to be, and I’m enjoying life and having fun,” she revealed.

Fern also mentioned that she has a “really great network of friends” who “do the world a favor.”
In the same conversation with Women’s Weekly magazine, the turned host expressed no interest in meeting anyone new, and he’s ruled out getting married for the third time.
She told the publication: “I’m not looking for love. I’m still a little too cautious about losing my freedom.”
“I don’t want to live with anyone – and I don’t want to get married again.
“I’m a very independent person, and the older I get, the more I realize that I like my freedom.”
While she keeps herself occupied with friends and pursuits like writing and gardening, Fern admitted that she can feel “pretty lonely” at times.
“It would be foolish to say that I feel on point 100% of the time,” she added.
“Cats are great companions, but there are days when I’m quite lonely because sitting is lonely in itself.”
Fern Britton has lived in Cornwall since the couple split
Fern moved to Cornwall after her split from Phil, leaving their large home in Missenden in Buckinghamshire, a village famous for its stunning countryside.
It is understood the former This Morning presenter is living at a previous family holiday retreat.
Adopting a more peaceful existence in the Cornish countryside, Fern describes her beautiful surroundings as her “grassland.”
Since moving to the region, she has been updating followers about her solo chapter via social media, which regularly includes glimpses of her exercise routine.
The presenter transformed her lifestyle before the shoulder surgery she had in 2023.
Since then, the mother-of-four has reportedly shed five stone by following a fitness plan after completing the Couch to 5K program and overhauling her eating habits.
