South Park ranks relatively high when it comes to 2025 TV shows that I like the most. I didn’t always watch it, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve developed a deep respect for the series since somehow, despite so many shows being canceled, South Park continues its twenty-seven-season reign—and it’s likely to continue for much longer.

But part of me is starting to think South Park is seriously in dire straits for being canceled lately with some of its takeaways. I won’t go into the absolutely obvious, because I’m sure everyone and their mother has seen it. However, there’s one more takeaway from the first episode of Season 27 that I really want to talk about — and it’s one that I have personal opinions on. Let’s get into it.

The latest season of South Park has been hilarious

So while there’s only been one episode of South Park Season 27 so far, I can already tell that it’s going to be a fun thriller from the first episode alone. I think we need to talk about the elephant in the room – addressing the current President of the United States, in which case it harkens back to the older days of South Park.

That’s right, I’m talking about the most terrifying South Park episode ever. This is definitely going to be an interesting season.

That’s really not the point, though. I feel like this season is going to be ridiculous for a myriad of reasons. The creators — Trey Parker and Matthew Stone — didn’t just take a break last week , but really last year. They didn’t even bother releasing the season during the 2024 presidential cycle because they saw what happened to the series in the 2016 and 2020 runs and decided not to participate in that nonsense anymore.

And honestly, good for them. I would be the same. That kind of thing always drives people. But now they’ve been thinking about this new material for a year, and I can only imagine what’s going to happen in this upcoming season, because it’s going to be fun and epic and everything else you can think of under the sun.

However, there is one aspect of the first episode that I think they did a fun take on – and one that is also a little harrowing.

But the show’s take on how AI has become more of a chatbot than a resource is scary — and hilarious.

So the central premise of the episode is that Jesus is being put back in schools, literally put back in school buildings. The actual Christ figure is a character again this season. Randy, confused about why Jesus is being left in schools, asks the AI helper app on his phone — most likely referring to Chatgpt — if Jesus should be in schools.

Apparently, the chatbot gives him the AI answer he was looking for, and then he goes on to say how grateful he is to have someone to talk to about it when his wife is literally right there in bed next to him.

Es būšu godīgs, es eksplodēt Ārpus smieties, skatoties to.

Tas man savā ziņā atgādina filmu – un es esmu ieinteresēts, no kurienes sezona iet no turienes

Šī viena aina mani patiesībā satrauca, jo tā man atgādināja filmu Viņu, Lomās Joaquin Phoenix.

But hey, if South Park wants to make a joke out of Randy’s use of it, I’m here for it. I think that when it comes to dealing with the constant changes in our environment and the world around us, laughter is the best medicine. And I, for one, laugh my head off watching Randy and seeing how he interacts with these robots as the season progresses. I’m here for it.

With a new episode of South Park coming out today, I’m eager to see what they have next, unless I have to watch the tiny, ah… Human Forgiveness again. That was enough for one episode.
