Creators of the popular action anime Jujutsu kaisenA teaser for the highly anticipated third season was revealed on Monday (September 1). Described as a Jujutsu Kaisen The Culling game adapted from the manga arc of the same name, the third season will be released in January 2026.
Crunchyroll revealed the teaser and release date during a live broadcast of the fifth anniversary special episode of the Crunchyroll Anime Awards.
Jujustu Kaisen revolves around the battle between Jujutsu wizards and curses. The third season report shows the main character Yuji Itadori struggling with conflict and despair after believing that he killed many people during the Shibuya Incident.

The preview also features an intense fight between Yuji and Yuta Okkotsu, the main character from the prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen 0, along with a heated confrontation between new character Naoya Zen’in and Choso. Megumi Fushiguro, Yuki Tsukumo, and Maki Zen’in make brief appearances in the teaser.
The upcoming season is directed by Shota Goshozono and Hiroshi Seko, handling the series composition and scriptwriting. The Japanese voice cast includes Junya Enoki as Yuji Itadori, Yuma Uchida as Megumi Fushiguro, Daisuke Namikawa as Choso, and Megumi Ogata as Yuta Okkotsu.

Based on the manga by Gege Akutami, Jujutsu kaisen is believed to have sold over 100 million copies worldwide. The manga concluded its run in Weekly Shonen Jump in September 2024.
The first season of the anime aired from October 2020 to March 2021, followed by a second season covering the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death and Shibuya Incident arcs from July to December 2023. The theatrical film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 won Best Anime Film at the 2023 Crunchyroll Anime Awards and grossed approximately $180 million at the global box office.
