They think they’ve spotted a “clue” that a horror kidnapping is set to take place after Lisa Swain’s wife returns
Coronation Street fans think they have spotted a “clue” that the show is set to turn into a cobblestones show after Becky Swain’s return.
Those who follow the ITV soap had to wait longer than usual to see the aftermath of Becky’s bombshell arrival at Weatherfield, four years after her wife, DS Lisa Swain, was thought to have been killed in the line of duty.
Corrie fans saw the detective sergeant left stunned in last Monday’s (September 8) episode when her late wife Becky turned out to be very much alive.
They then had to wait until Friday (September 12) to see what happened after Becky appeared at No.
When they were visible, Lisa tried to believe that Becky was standing in front of her, and couldn’t get her head around the fact that Becky had allowed her and their daughter Betsy to grieve her for so long, despite her entire death being faked.
Becky explained that she had spent the last four years in Spain under a different name after being placed in witness protection following an undercover operation gone wrong.
Lisa furiously discovered that Becky had been targeted by a dangerous gang, which had ultimately put the entire family in danger and led to Becky’s decision to go into hiding.
Carla then returned home from a false alarm at the factory and, while Becky tried to claim she knew Lisa from work, she was having none of it and, clearly worried, told her new partner the truth.
Needing some space, Lisa dropped Karl off at the house with Becky before Roy Cropper arrived and tried to tell Karl that he had recently seen Becky during a recent visit to the hospital because he saw a photo of them at their home.
Carla managed to get out of the situation before Carla and Becky went looking for Lisa. They eventually tracked her down in the park she and Becky used to take Betsy to as a child, and found her sitting on Becky’s memorial bench.
It was then revealed that the ashes scattered all those years ago were Tia Wardley, the name Logan Radcliffe had given Karla during a prison visit, and the name of the woman they thought was at their recent engagement party.
But it was the moment Carla found her partner’s location on the app that Corrie fans couldn’t help but feel was significant for what might be on the cards for the newly engaged couple, and the recently returned ex-wife.
@Luciferseve said: “I just know it’ll come back when one of them gets k**napped.”
@Swarlafan2025 replied: “So in the end, everything Carl gets shot at, and Lisa saves him by killing Becky.”
@Tasmin124 suggested: “This is my theory. I think Becky is going to kidnap Carla and make it look like Carla went to Ireland or LA to Lisa.” @Heyitscallisto added: “Becky is adding another crime to her rap sheet.”
