KSI has been confirmed as Britain’s Got Talent’s new judge as Bruno Tonioli reveals why he “left” in a major shake-up of the popular ITV programme.

ITV announced on Monday night (September 2) that the music artist, YouTuber and Boxer is becoming a permanent fixture on the annual talent show.

Joining the judging panel for series 19 of the KSI show are favourites Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.

Former Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno is stepping down from his Britain’s Got Talent duties after three seasons, joining the program in 2023.

The 69-year-old Italian, who replaced David Williams on the judging panel, revealed he is returning to the US to film the next season of Dancing with the Stars.

“After three incredible series, I have unfortunately had to walk away from a job that has opened my eyes to so much incredible talent and step down as a judge on BGT.

“And while I hope to film a new series of Dancing with the Stars in the US, I will miss the chaos and joy that BGT brings, as well as all the wonderful people I have had the privilege of working with.

“They really are a great team who make great television and I know KSI will be a fantastic referee as well, as he has already proven himself this year,” he said.

Last season, Xi, 32, filled in as a guest judge twice, once when Bruno was filming Dancing with the Stars and the other when Simon took time off following Liam Payne’s death.

Proving to be a hit with viewers, his live Golden Buzzer act Harry Mouldings won the series, bringing home a cash prize of £250,000 and a place on the Royal Variety Show bill.

KSI said: “I am so grateful and happy to be part of Britain’s Got Talent for another season. I had such a great time last year and I can’t wait to see some more of the top talent.

“I’m full of energy, ready to go and can’t wait to make this the most entertaining season of BGT ever! Let’s do it.”

Thanking Bruno for his hard work on social media, a Britain’s Got Talent spokesperson said: “After three fabulous series, Bruno Tonioli is stepping down as a #bGT judge due to filming commitments.

“His time with us has been truly Sen-SA-Magazine! Thank you, Bruno, we will miss you!”

The open auditions for the 2026 series will continue in London on September 6 and September 7. The open auditions are open to any performer, of any age, with any talent – and acts can either appear on the day or apply via itv.com/talent. Acts can also apply via video or whatsapp.
