Nick Viall has his eyes on the athletes competing in Season 4 of Special Forces in the Field
“Eric [Decker] is obviously a former NFL player,” Nick, 44, shared on the Thursday, Aug. 7, episode of the “Viall Files” podcast . “No NFL players have passed the course because it’s an emotional test more than a physical test because at some point they literally torture you for eight to 10 days straight. You have to feel like your worst self.”
NBA player Nick Young, Olympic soccer player Christie Pearce Rampone , and Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson will join NFL players Johnny Manziel , Randall Cobb , and Andrew East on Fox’s hit reality show The District.
Similar to previous seasons, celebrities will undertake demanding training led by an elite team of former force officers.

While some viewers may be quick to assume that athletes stand out on the show, Nick reminded fans not to underestimate some reality stars.
“In the first two seasons, out of the five people who passed the course, three of them were from Bachelor Nation,” he shared.
In season 2, Nick won the show alongside Tyler Cameron . Bachelorette star Hannah Brown also passed the final test in season 1.

This year, viewers will get to watch family members compete on the show. Teresa Giudice will be joined by her daughter Gia Giudice while Jesse James Decker and 33-year-old Sean will join their husbands in Season 4.
“Does one quit while the other stays?” Nick asked, before sharing a hypothetical. “What if Eric is like, ‘f*** this s***,’ and Jessie is like, ‘No!’”
One person who contacted Nick before filming Brianna “Whoolfry” Lapaglia in The Area told the influencer that the show is not for the faint of heart .
“Briana approached me and asked if she should do it,” he said. “I didn’t get any confirmation that she was doing it. I was like, ‘You should definitely do it, and I think you’ll do well.’ I just gave her a couple of little things and then I never heard back.”
Before the new season began, Nick was quick to remind viewers that their Special Forces is the real deal, not your average non-scripted show.
“There are literally days of special forces training,” he said. “It’s not a reality TV show. It’s a real-life simulation. They don’t involve producers. There’s no craft services. There’s no downtime. Nobody’s making you avocado toast while you’re doing your makeup or anything like that. You’re in a real-life special forces training simulation.”
When it comes to compensation, Nick claimed that contestants are paid the same whether they last a day or it’s until the very end.
“There’s no incentive,” he explained. “They all paid what they got. They can leave whatever they want and still get the same amount of money. It’s just for the pride.”
Special Forces Season 4 premieres on Fox on Thursday, September 25th at 9:00 AM ET.
