Swifties have bad blood…with the University of Nebraska Football Team!
Taylor Swift fans really took aim at the Nebraska Huskers over the past 24 hours, and not because they beat Travis Kelce ‘s alma mater, the University of Cincinnati ! Tayvis attended the college football opener at Arrowhead Stadium on Thursday night, in which—spoiler alert—Nebraska won 20-17 to the heart of the Kelce Bros. But Swifties didn’t care. They just didn’t appreciate that the Huskers were such painful winners!
In case you didn’t see, the team chose to cheer for their win by mocking her engagement to the Kansas City Chiefs on Strictly Come Dancing on social media! And it’s… creepy.

After the Nebraska Huskers won the game, the team’s social media team changed one of their engagement photos. It’s this one (below):
However, the Huskers got rid of Travis and put their mascot in his place, showing Taylor’s coziness to Herbie Husker! And they signed off on a “change of plans” post. Ch-c-check it out (below):

Ick! It’s only like a degree away from Tay AI’s low-tech version of pictures with footballers to the beginning of their relationship!
Of course, Swifties weren’t kidding! Fans slammed the team for being “disgusting” and crossing the line by sulling in an engagement photo to “appease” the other party! See the reactions (below):

After the comments were hidden on the Huskers account, one person wrote:
“Did someone hurt your feelings @Huskers imagine how Taylor feels about her engagement photo being edited and her fiancé covering it up. Jual messed with the wrong legal team.”
The post was eventually deleted. A spokesperson for the university’s athletics department almost apologized, saying of the decision:
“The ill-advised post on the @huskers X account last night sparked very strong responses and comments that took attention away from the game and our football team. We have made the decision to remove the post and focus on opening our season in a great environment.”
Huskers learned their lesson! Don’t worry about the speedsters!
