Strictly Come Dancing fans have hailed Dianna Buswell as a “superhero” as she is set to make history once again on the popular programme.
The professional dancer will return to the ballroom as the reigning champion of the BBC One dance show, having lifted the coveted glitterball trophy last year.
Dianne, who hails from Australia, emerged victorious alongside her celebrity dance partner, comedian Chris McCausland. The pair made history, with Chris becoming the first blind contestant to be a Strictly contestant.
Now Dianne is set to achieve another first as she revealed on Sunday (September 14) that she is expecting her first child with her boyfriend Joe Sugg ahead of the launch of Strictly’s 23rd series.
Taking to Instagram, the couple, who met on Strictly in 2018 when they were paired together and made it to the finals, could be seen in the clip standing behind a wooden easel and painting, with the clip set to Elton John’s track Tiny Dancer.

The playful clip then sees the pair painting before they turn the canvas over to reveal three stick figures – one of Dianna, one of Joe and the children in the middle.
Alongside the post, which was originally shared by Joe, he wrote: “Our little boy [heart emoji] In the area We can’t wait to meet you.”
Messages of congratulations quickly came pouring in from Dianne’s Strictly co-stars and their pals from the show, as well as fans.
And support for Dianne has spread across other social media platforms as she rapidly heads into her ninth year. @Carlee3091 said: “So not only did Dianne complete a national tour in weeks of pregnancy like an absolute trooper… she’s now going to be strictly competing with her baby boy with her dance partner. First off, strictly baby will be joining us on this dance floor.”
@Ryansoapking25 replied: “Yes, she’s a superhero! The winner traditionally always becomes someone older the following year, and the producers obviously took that into account to add to her pregnancy. She’s still going to have a good year with her celebrity, though #swift #swift #StrictlyComedancanceancance.”
@ffionlewis97 commented: “She’s making history again.” @Striclmx added: “Dianne has done all the Rhar and Pro rehearsals and filming and is now acting strictly pregnant, which is a woman.”
