Thalapathy Vijay is set to hit the big screens on January 9, 2026 with his action drama flick Jana Nayagan. The H Vinoth-directed film is now speculated to have its audio launch in December 2025 and is also set to hit the international scene.
Jana Nayagan to do audio launch in Malaysia?
According to a report by X (formerly Twitter) Handy, the makers of the Singaporean film, Jana Nayagan, are set to host the audio launch in Malaysia. According to the same update, the event will take place on December 27, 2025.
While this is yet to be confirmed by official sources, this would go against the norm of Vijay’s films as mostly the audio launches of his films are done in Tamil Nadu.
Future of Thalapathy Vijay in Tamil Cinema
As early promos have said, Jana Nayagan is likely to be Thalapathy Vijay’s last cinematic venture before he fully turns to politics.
Recently, his Jana Nayagan co-star Mamitha Baiju revealed that his future in Tamil cinema depends on the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections and their results.
On a side note, director Lokesh Kanagaraj admitted that he has ideas for Master 2 and Leo 2. However, it depends on Vijay’s availability. While he was questioned about whether he would replace the superstar in the sequel venture, the director stood firm that without Vijay, the projects would never materialize.

With Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol playing the co-leads, the film features an ensemble cast including Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, Priyamani, Mamitha Baiju and many more in pivotal roles.
With Anirudh Ravichander handling the musical scores and background scores, this marks the musician’s 5th collaboration with Vijay after films like Kaththi, Master, Beast and Leo.
