Ashton Bingham and Art Kulik — the YouTubers behind the wildly successful Trilogy Media Channel — are holding themselves back for the role they played in taking down an international scam ring.We caught up with the internet sensations on “TMZ Live” Friday, where they detailed how their “cheating” stunt escalated to a full-blown investigation … and how an IRL sting operation inspired real change at the federal level.Watch the video… Ashton and the art star as they proudly explain how their back-and-forth communication with some scammers caused the respective perpetrators to inadvertently make themselves vulnerable—essentially exposing their identities.
Ashton says they were deliberately difficult because the fraudsters were trying to access their funds remotely… the criminals eventually asked AB and AK to send their money to an address in the USFrom there, the YouTuber followed the money… eventually coming face to face with the recipient, leading to some big revelations that were enough to warrant testimony before a grand jury.However, as the duo told us on Friday, it took them half a year to get to this point … and to get multiple federal agencies to get on the same page to arrest these scammers “in real time.”Three cheers for these keyboard detectives!!!
