The Layoffs star Britt Lower took home the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at the 2025 Emmys on Sunday, and she didn’t miss the perfect opportunity to give fans a little Easter egg.
Lower’s speech in the video above is normal enough, thanking various people before finally being thanked by her Layoffs character, Helly R, “for choosing me.” But eagle-eyed viewers will notice that the words “layoffs me” are written in all caps on the back of the notepad she’s reading from, a brilliant nod to her “Innie” character’s attempts to warn the wider world about Lumon Industries’ dreary dealings on the show.
Innie Helly R. would definitely be proud.
