A cybercriminal tricked a Cisco representative into giving them access to the personal information of cisco.com users, the company announced Tuesday in the Local.

Cisco announced it discovered the breach on July 24, blaming the incident on voice phishing, or “whisper” calling. According to the company’s disclosure, hackers accessed and exported “a subset of core professional information” from a third-party cloud-based customer relationship management (CRM) system database.

Cisco said the stolen data included the customer’s name, organization name, address, Cisco-assigned user ID, email address, phone number, and account-related metadata “such as the account creation date.”

The networking technology giant did not say how many Cisco.com users were affected by the breach when reached by email by Cisco spokesperson Carro Halpin.

As Computerworld noted, this breach could be another in a series of attacks targeting Salesforce data from companies including U.S. insurance giant Allianz Life, luxury retailer Tiffany & Co., Australian airline Qantas, and others.

Cisco is a well-known Salesforce customer on the cloud giant’s radar.

This story was updated to include Cisco’s response.
