After months of waiting, Apple has finally released one of its most exciting iPhone updates yet – iOS 26.
The design overhaul, announced at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, brings transparent, glass-like effects to app icons, the lock screen, and the home screen.
While many fans have rushed to install the update, it seems that many are already regretting their decision.
Several users have reported their iPhone battery draining within hours of downloading iOS 26.
“Just fully charged my phone 58 minutes ago and it’s already down to 79%. iOS 26 is turning my phone into a brick,” one user vented on X.
Another added: “Dude WTF. My phone has been burning up since the iOS 26 update and voila, my battery health just dropped to 80%. I haven’t even changed any of my charging habits.”
Following the backlash, Apple has issued an official warning – and even admitted that your iPhone may overheat and lose battery faster after the update.

iOS 26 includes a bunch of new features – including a shared new look called Liquid Glass.
“Liquid Glass [is] a new transparent material that reflects and refracts its surroundings, bringing more focus to content and delivering a new level of vitality across controls, navigation, app icons, widgets and more,” Apple explained in a news release.
“The new design extends to the home screen and lock screen, making them more personal and expressive than ever before.
“Liquid Glass also brings new customization options to app icons and widgets, including a stunning clear look.”
The software update also introduces new features to the Phone and Messages apps, as well as CarPlay, Apple Music, Maps, Wallet, and Apple Games.
While iOS 26 was announced back in June, it only became widely available last night.
And those who have already downloaded it have reported battery drain issues.
Taking to X, one said: “iOS26 is a battery savior! I usually don’t run out of juice and only have to charge at night.”

Par laimi, Apple ir apstiprinājis, ka akumulatora problēmas ir tikai īslaicīgas.
“Tūlīt pēc atjaunināšanas pabeigšanas, jo īpaši būtisku izlaidumu, jūs varētu pamanīt pagaidu ietekmi uz akumulatora darbības laiku un termisko veiktspēju,” tas paskaidroja jaunos norādījumos.
“Tas ir normāli, jo jūsu ierīcei ir nepieciešams laiks, lai pabeigtu iestatīšanas procesu fonā, ieskaitot datu indeksēšanu un failus meklēšanai, jaunu aktīvu lejupielādei un lietotņu atjaunināšanai.
“Jaunas funkcijas ir aizraujošas un palīdz jums vēl vairāk atbrīvoties no jūsu Apple produkta, lai gan dažiem no ierīces var būt nepieciešami papildu resursi.
“Atkarībā no individuāla izmantošanas daži lietotāji var pamanīt nelielu ietekmi uz veiktspēju un/vai akumulatora darbības laiku.
