As you might expect, Netflix’s new documentary about one-man controversy magnet Charlie Sheen has already generated a lot of conversation.
The two-part film aka Charlie Sheen premiered on the streaming service last week, featuring interviews with the man himself, as well as a colorful cast of characters, including the Two and a Half Men star’s former colleagues, friends, partners, and even enemies.
But some key figures were missing from that list as well.
Those who have already streamed both parts of Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez did not sit through the interviews.

Why didn’t Martin Sheen and Emilio Estevez want to appear on Netflix’s aka Charlie Sheen?
Director Andrew Renzi insisted to Wrapping Up that Martina and Emilio’s decisions not to appear in aka Charlie Sheen “were not controversial.”
“It was actually understandable,” the filmmaker insisted.
Did [Martin] want Charlie to be able to tell his own story and not go through the whole thing, and Charlie wanted to make the film a love letter to his father. That didn’t bother me.
“Emilio just went through that process of letting it be Charlie. They were really the only two who could have been in it and weren’t, but their reasons for not [doing it] make a lot of sense.”

Charlie himself also claimed that both his famous brother and Emmy-winning dad “saw a rough cut” of the doc “and they both loved it.”
He added that after seeing the film themselves, they told him, “This is your story, we can’t tell it better than you can, so we’ll just let you.”
The startup star also pointed out that both Emilio and Martin appear in the archival footage, “so they fully support” the documentary.

Interestingly, while his dad and brother Emilio said no, another of Charlie’s siblings, Ramon Estevez, aka Charlie Sheen, participated.
Also featured are two of his three ex-wives, Brooke Mueller and Denise Richards.

Among the stars interviewed are his childhood friend Sean Penn, former Two and a Half Men colleagues Chuck Lorre and Jon Kramer, and his former co-star Chris Tucker.
The infamous Hollywood “Madame” Heidi Fleiss — who Charlie famously testified against in court, leading to her labeling him “ Crybaby Rich Boy” — also sat for interviews, as did the actor’s former drug dealer Marco.
