Samsung began rolling out the official version of its new One Ui 8 operating system on Tuesday (September 16, 2025), starting with the Galaxy S25 series. It will further roll out to the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy S24 Fe, and other eligible models later this year.
According to Samsung, One UI 8 has become more refined and personalized, recognizing the user’s context and offering proactive recommendations.
With One UI 8, the bar now displays real-time app activity and media player progress directly on the Galaxy Z Flip’s FlexWindow, and it’s now also integrated with even more third-party apps.
Now, the watch can deliver more personalized daily updates, including traffic, important reminders, and Samsung Moments. Plus, personalized health insights from the Galaxy Watch are also easily accessible.

KNOX Enhanced Encrypted Protection (Keep) is a new security architecture designed to enable AI experiences powered by the Galaxy Personal Data Engine (PDE). It creates an encrypted, app-specific storage environment on the device.
Gemini Live allows you to interact with AI that understands what the user is seeing or watching in real time, without the need to switch between apps.
With Circle to Search’s advanced translation capabilities, users can see translated text in real time as they scroll and interact with the screen in their preferred language.
One UI 8 offers UX versatility across the entire Galaxy product portfolio. It can adapt to the form factors of Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
The AI results view displays the results of AI functions in a separate split view or floating view.
Multi-window allows users to drag and drop AI-generated content, including images and text, directly into their workflow.
Gemini Live is now available directly on Flip’s FlexWindow for hands-free voice search on the cover screen.
One UI 8 also features an audio eraser that detects and removes unwanted background noise, such as wind or traffic, with a single tap for a new switch in video apps and audio apps.
The new watch face design stretches and adapts to fit the user’s wallpaper. The watch face font wraps around faces or outlines. Users can also adjust the font thickness, size, and color.
One UI 8 also brings AI-powered tools like Portrait Studio. Call Captions instantly converts voice to text during calls, as well as keyboard input using Translator.
