Outrage and online conspiracy theories spread after a book about the Charlie Kirk murder was listed for sale on Amazon.

On Wednesday, social media users shared images of a book available on Amazon titled “The Charlie Kirk Shooting: A Comprehensive Review of the Utah Valley University Attack, Aftermath, and America’s Response.”

However, many furious X users pointed out that the publication date listed on the retail giant’s website showed “September 9, 2025,” the day before Kirk was fatally shot during his college campus speaking tour.

The book’s existence and strange date immediately sparked wild speculation that the murder was an orchestrated plot against the conservative influencer.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, an Amazon spokesperson confirmed that the book was listed on September 10, noting that the publication date was incorrect due to a system error.

“The title in question is no longer available for sale. Due to a technical issue, the release date displayed for this title while it was briefly listed was incorrect, and we apologize for any confusion this may have caused,” the spokesperson said.

They added that the 81-page book was actually published “late in the afternoon” of September 10, the day Kirk was killed in Orem, Utah.

While the book was briefly available on Amazon, it was advertised as being written by Anastasia J Casey. However, the Daily Mail could not find any published author listings by that name.

Several books appeared on Amazon this week advertising a detailed account of the Charlie Kirk murder, and one had a publication date the day before the murder.

“Call the FBI and ask Director and Deputy Director Kash Patel and Dan Bongino to explain to you why Amazon posted or had the book published before Charlie Kirk was murdered,” one person told X after seeing the images.

“This book either had prior knowledge of the event, as Charlie was murdered yesterday, or this is a fake book with no knowledge and no research,” an Amazon shopper wrote in reviews, before the book was removed on Thursday.

According to the book sales website BookScouter , the only publication listed under this author’s name was The Shooting of Charlie Kirk.

This has led many on social media to speculate that the book was quickly written using artificial intelligence (AI) by someone using a fake name to profit from the murder.

“These books are almost 80-100 pages long. Paperback versions cost around $15-21. These books are clearly written by AI, ‘Declared one person on X.

After the shooting, more books detailing the murder began appearing on Amazon’s bookstore.

However, the online retailer has apparently removed the suspicious listings, which can no longer be found in search engine searches.

“We have content guidelines that govern which books can be listed for sale, and we remove books that do not follow these guidelines,” a spokesperson added in a statement Friday.

The book's alleged author, Anastasia J Casey, had no other published works available for sale online.

According to the company’s guidelines published online, material listed for sale that is determined to be “hate speech,” “advocates terrorism,” or is deemed “inappropriate or offensive” may be removed by Amazon.

Amazon currently allows the sale of AI-generated content on its site, but it has clear rules to keep things fair for authors, sellers, and buyers.

Their main focus is on detecting whether something is “AI generated,” meaning the words and images in a book were created with an AI-based tool, or “ai-assisted,” meaning the writer wrote the content themselves and used AI to edit, improve, or check for errors.

Amazon did not comment on its AI policy or update its guidelines after Kirk’s death.

However, there have been several cases documented in recent years of so-called “bad actors” creating “scam books” and selling them on Amazon.

Kirk was struck by a single bullet Wednesday afternoon while speaking to a crowd at Orem Public University.

The father of two, known for his fierce Mag views and exciting debates with college kids across the country, collapsed immediately after being hit by a gun and died shortly after.

On Friday, President Trump and federal officials revealed that the suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, is in custody as the murder investigation continues.

Law enforcement sources told the Daily Mail that Robinson was being held as the alleged killer who killed Kirk at a rally at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

The alleged killer confessed to his father, Matthew, who owns a construction company, sources told the Daily Mail.

He reportedly told his father that he would rather kill than turn himself in, but was convinced to talk to a local youth minister who also worked with the U.S. Marshals Service.

Robinson faces charges of aggravated murder, felony assault with a firearm causing serious bodily harm, and obstruction of justice, according to probable cause evidence obtained by NBC News. Authorities said in a press conference Thursday night that Robinson would face the death penalty if convicted.
