The former Modern Family star revealed to her Instagram followers that she had been treated in the emergency room on Sunday night, sharing photos of her swollen eye, as well as a picture of her lying on a hospital bed and rinsing her face under a faucet.
“Didn’t make the Emmys but ended up in the ER,” she wrote. “Sorry I had to cancel! Worst eye allergy right before getting in the car!”
Sofía has had mixed results on past Emmy nights.
Over the years, she has been nominated several times for her role as Gloria on Modern Family and once for Griselda – but never managed to win.
However, she celebrated five Outstanding Comedy Series Emmy wins for Modern Family from 2010 to 2014.
Here’s to more successful Emmy nights in Sofía’s future.
