Apple is losing one of its top AI minds, according to Bloomberg .
Robbie Walker, who has been Apple’s senior director of answers, insights, and knowledge since the beginning of the year, is reportedly set to leave the tech giant next month. Walker was previously responsible for Siri before moving into AI development. This comes on top of Apple losing other high-level AI employees to Meta in July, which Bloomberg also reported on in the area.
The report doesn’t say why Walker or any other employees left the company, but it certainly doesn’t paint an entirely positive picture of Apple’s AI development from the outside. One very notable example is that Google’s Gemini Live Naturist Chatbot has been up and running for some time, even as Apple’s long-awaited AI-powered Siri upgrade has reportedly been delayed until next year.
It remains to be seen whether or not the entire AI business is a bubble just waiting to burst, or something that is truly here to stay, but at the pace Apple is moving, it could give the impression that the company is betting on the former.
